The Australian Aid For Cambodia Fund (AACF) is a non-profit overseas aid organisation, staffed by volunteers, with Head Office in Sydney. AACF's major program is the provision of higher education for rural youth. In partnership with the Cambodian Government, AACF has built, equipped and supports Maharishi Vedic University (MVU), Cambodia's only rural university. MVU offers programmes based on the teaching of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
As part of our ongoing support to MVU, we run a volunteer program, providing a team of expatriate teachers to MVU's Agriculture and Management faculties. AACF volunteers also work on infrastructure development, administration and other projects.

I went to Cambodia with hopes to relieve myself from the memories of my past. I had wished to see my relatives after twenty years of separation, to see where Cambodia is at since I left her, to share my experiences as a Khmer-American woman, and to understand my true identity. When I arrived in Cambodia the two words that described my feeling were "lethargic" and "amazed." I was lethargic to see the present state of Cambodia to be fragile, innocent, and medieval. I soon realized that I have indeed ended up at the point in my life journey where I first started. Yet, I was amazed to see hopes and joys in many Cambodian’s faces around the lax in which environment they lived and that alleviated a lot of the pains from my past.

Project Support:
Power Supply at MVU
Donations needed to run generator
MVU, located as it is in rural Cambodia, does not have access to a constant power supply. Power needs are met by the use of a 60KVA generator run by diesel fuel, an extremely expensive undertaking. Fuel prices are as expensive in Cambodia as they are in other parts of the world and MVU is constantly in need of funds to buy fuel to run the generator. Specific donations for this purpose would be greatly appreciated and can be made directly to AACF through our online payment system. The cost of the present intermittent supply of power for MVU is about $40US per day.
